love/hate relationship w/life- horses still lovely

It's been a while.
So, my birthday was on Sunday. It was.... okay, I guess, but my idea of 'fun' differs immensely from what my parents would like to do, so towards the end they wanted to go out to Cafe Intermezzo, but I just wanted to stay home and read/talk to my friends.
And, as some of you may, or may not, know, I haven't been having a great time lately, and even though it's not my life going wrong - it's the people around me - I'm getting affected pretty badly by it. New psych theory! (I know some of you are groaning! xD) If you surround yourself with screwed-up people, you yourself will become screwed up.
But anyway, a couple of people who I haven't talked to in a while all called and gave me very nice happy birthdays, and it was just nice to know they cared, especially without prompting or anything - and these people aren't exactly my best friends who'd I'd expect it of! So that made me feel a bit better.
I got some pretty journals, books, movies, my PRETTY NEW PHONE -drools over new phone- I lovelovelovelovelove it.
... i'm being material xD
ANYWAY, the horses are still love! I have, for the most part, regained my ability to walk, but last week I sort of, erm, lost it again?
I've ridden a different horse every week, but last week we were having a really small lesson - there were only three of us - and this had absolutely no effect on my choice of who to ride, but it's important. Anyway, my first day back I rode this little pony called Jack - he's new. I love him - he'll never be like Reve, but I do love him, because of what he puts up with me for xD Plus he's just too tiny and adorable, lol.
ANYWAY, last week I was riding this little pony, and it was a small lesson, and it was sort of - not to be arrogant, or anything, just they way it is - what I guess you would call the 'more advanced set' of students. So Vicky set up some verticals, some boxes, and we weren't going to originally because Jack had been ridden before and these really weren't what he should be jumping, but once around with some equitation (stopping and changing gaits between/after jumps, you know?) stuff and the second time with two higher lines instead of one, we decided well, why not do this course?
I love jumping courses, even 'mini-courses,' I don't know why, but you have to admit that the thrill is just a bit more.... exaggerated, I guess, than in just jumping lines. And this was great, because we had a vertical set on the diagonal, then you turn around the coop and brick wall that haven't been used in like a billion years. lol, to a line of boxes, and then another line, and then you turn and go the other way, and go over the infamous BRUSH, which really is sort of infamous xD in a weird inside-joke-ish way. Anyway, it's one of the taller ones, and basically it's this white fence sort of thing with brush inside it (yep, verrrrrry exciting....)
I took him over this and I was very proud of him, because I gave my crop to another girl who frankly needed it more - ironic, because whenever I carry a crop I never use it, but if I don't I kill my knees. And frankly, pushing this tiny pony, and I mean tiny, pony over these jumps he'd most likely never seen or tried to jump the height of in recent years, and people were literally like (because at this point people who weren't part of my lesson were in here) "Is that Jack?" and because it's awesome to feel that way it made me happy to know I could do that, and Jack got marvellously spoiled after the lesson because everybody was really proud of him.
So, that was really pointless. I felt like sharing, because after that I decided that I needed to seriously help my knee because I couldn't remove the brace even to sleep until today o.0 yeah, it wa screwy. Next time I will do those stretches!
